Memorial
Medical Center offers 24-hour physician coverage in the Emergency
Room. The qualified staff of physicians, nursing personnel (certified
in advanced cardiac life support) and support staff offer quality
care in the event of an emergency. The state designated Level IV Trauma
Center features the LifePack 20 Heart/Cardiac Monitor
which offers the latest in cardiac monitoring and is designed to be
compatible with the systems used by Calhoun County EMS. A separate
triage area is used to assess patient needs and the Trauma Unit is
properly equipped to allow physicians to perform minor procedures
without having to relocate patients to an operating room.
DECONTAMINATION
- Located in our Emergency Department, Memorial Medical Center’s
Decontamination Center was designed specifically to meet the needs
of local industry. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are kept on
file for all the chemicals used within a 40 mile radius of the hospital.
Technicians are trained to handle the various chemicals workers may
come into contact. Oxygen hookups and hazardous material suits are
available if necessary. The Decontamination Room has a separate outside
entrance to protect patients and staff from hazardous materials and
a separate holding tank keeps the washdown chemicals safely contained
for proper disposal.
