Throughout
history, trees have stood as symbols of life. It is therefore quite
fitting that the new Giving Tree has taken root in the
lobby of Memorial Medical Center. Made possible by the generosity
of the hospital auxiliary, The Giving Tree is an original sculpture
by artist Sanford Werfel of New Jersey made especially for Memorial
Medical Center. Commemorative gifts donated in the honor or memory
of someone special are timeless. Your gift honors a friend or loved
one by establishing a permanent memorial. It will also enable Memorial
Medical Center to continue to meet the community healthcare needs
of tomorrow.
The purpose of
The Giving Tree is to provide recognition for individuals, organizations
and corporations for their generous gifts to the hospital. The tree
contains 300 leaves. Beneath the tree are 12 stones and 12 plaques.
Each leaf, stone and plaque will be engraved with the donors
name or a memorial inscription, recognizing gifts of various levels.
Families, individuals,
companies and clubs will find this an appropriate way to honor the
memory of friends and loved ones or to recognize a special person.
Each inscribed leaf of The Giving Tree represents a donation of $500,
a stone represents $5,000 and a wall plaque $10,000 or more. All donations
aid in purchasing the special equipment and facilities needed to meet
the growing needs of the citizens of our community. All gifts are
tax deductible.
The Tree symbolizes
peoples willingness to provide help, hope and happiness to all
patients. Your donation will become a permanent symbol of your compassion.
