What could possibly be more special than bringing a new life into the world? Memorial Medical Center celebrates the new life of your baby by offering you and your family a state-of-the art Obstetrics Unit with skilled personnel dedicated to making the birth of your child as comfortable and special as possible. It’s our commitment to “the little things” that sets our birthing units apart. We look forward to helping you welcome your little one into the world.

BEFORE - The period before the birth of your child is just as important as the birth itself! That’s why Memorial Medical Center offers special child birth preparation classes. These courses are taught by instructors certified in child birth education. Parents are encouraged to attend and explore such topics as the process of birth, relaxation and breathing techniques, pain management, nutrition and infant CPR. Courses are offered once a week over a six week period and each session is two hours in length. Classes are designed to be small in size to allow parents a better opportunity to interact with other classmates and the instructor.

DURING - Memorial Medical Center is very proud of its Obstetrics Unit. We offer expectant parents Labor and Delivery Rooms (LDR) designed with comfort in mind. These special rooms provide parents and family members a comfortable, home-like setting as they welcome their new baby into the world from labor through delivery. Each room is equipped to handle a normal delivery as well as any unexpected emergencies and our staff members are certified in neonatal and adult resuscitation techniques. For your peace of mind and the safety of your child, our nursery area is regulated with coded locks and monitored 24-hours a day by security cameras.

AFTER - Memorial Medical Center is committed to healthy babies before, during and after the birth. To ensure the continued good health of your baby, we offer you hands-on training and instructions on child rearing techniques including basic childcare, breast or formula feeding, infant growth and development, soothing techniques, preparing siblings, making your home baby safe and post-partum health. And because we're committed to the good health of the new mother and baby, our staff will follow up the birth with a courtesy visit to the home. It’s this attention to the little things that sets our Obstetrical Unit apart, because at Memorial Medical Center, you’re not just a patient, you’re a special friend and neighbor!

Memorial Medical Center is committed to healthy babies and mothers before, during and after delivery. We look forward to being a part of your special day!
