The surgical department at Memorial Medical Center offers inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures utilizing state-of-the-art equipment including laparoscopic and endoscopic instrumentation, rivaling the equipment and technology found in major market hospitals. Our surgery department is capable of performing a multitude of surgical services such as endoscopy, ophthalmology, orthopedics, plastics, ENT, gynecology, general surgery, podiatry, urology, and pain management.
The endoscopy suite is equipped with Pentax scopes that allow our physicians to print photographs taken to allow for a prompt diagnosis and to share with our patient and their family.
The nursing staff is made up of 13 full time employees. All licensed staff are cross trained so that they can work in the different areas of the surgery department such as outpatient, GI lab, main OR, PACU, preadmission, and central sterile.
Our goal is to meet the needs of the community by providing as many services as possible. By doing this our patients remain here in Port Lavaca and experience the small town, friendly atmosphere where they are treated like a person and not a number. We truly care about our patient’s surgical experience and we pride ourselves on treating our patients like they are our family and friends.
