We are Asking for Hand-Sewn Surgical/Isolation Gowns, and Scrubs Donations

April 4, 2020 - Curry Health Network is asking for donations of Surgical or Isolation Gowns and Scrubs. We have collaborated with other hospitals throughout Oregon who have seen high incidence of COVID19 patients and learned that surgical / isolation gowns were needed in much higher volumes than they anticipated. Orders are not being immediately fulfilled, and gowns made of cloth (a twin bed sheet works well) can be safely laundered by the hospital and reused. We also have a need for donated Scrubs, and will accept other PPE donations.

We greatly appreciate all donations and thank you for your commitment to keeping our patients, providers and community well and safe.

PPE: ISOLATION/SURGICAL GOWNS

Isolation gowns are PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), a piece of specialized clothing that protects our employees against health and safety hazards. We are currently unable to obtain more surgical or isolation gowns and want to ensure we have adequate numbers on hand in the event of patient surge. We are asking any persons who sew and would like to donate their resources and time, to consider making surgical/isolation gowns to help protect the front-line health care workers at Curry Health Network.

SEWING INSTRUCTIONS: Please refer to the Reusable Isolation Gown instructions and video at the bottom of this page.

OTHER PPE ACCEPTED: We are also accepting donations of other PPE including N95 masks, hand sanitizer, sanitizer wipes, non-latex gloves, faceshields, and goggles. Please note: at this time, we are not encouraging donation of hand-sewn face masks.

SCRUBS

Please consider donating scrubs in serviceable condition (not requiring mending or repair) you no longer need or wear to Curry Health Network who will provide to staff for daily wear and laundering on site. Normal sources for our scrubs can not currently fulfill orders, there is potential for increased need, and we would like to offer this service to support staff as well as clinical staff.

HOW AND WHERE TO DONATE

Donated items can be dropped off 24/7 at the screening stations at the entrances of Curry General Hospital in Gold Beach and Curry Medical Center on 5th Street in Brookings.
