Our History

Memorial Medical Center

Through the years we have helped generation after generation reach better health. Our organization has been striving to serve the needs of our region since we were established in 1950 as the Calhoun County Memorial Hospital. In 1960, the first expansion to the hospital began adding thirty-three beds and a third floor. Mindful of our community needs, a second expansion began in 1994. Once completed, the corporate name of our healthcare system became Memorial Medical Center. Memorial Medical Center is now a twenty-five bed facility and the only hospital in Calhoun County.

In October 2024, the Board of Directors appointed Erin Clevenger, BSN, RN, as Chief Executive Officer of Memorial Medical Center. Erin has dedicated more than 25 years to Memorial Medical Center, serving in multiple leadership roles, including Chief Nursing Officer. With her strong clinical background as a Registered Nurse and her extensive leadership experience, she is uniquely positioned to guide the hospital’s continued growth.

Her leadership is focused on strengthening and advancing specialized healthcare services locally, ensuring residents have access to high-quality care close to home.

Since 1950, we have set out to make improvements in healthcare for Calhoun County and the whole Crossroads area. We here at Memorial Medical Center are loyal to our community and region, and will continue to strive for excellence in healthcare.
