Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher with a major in Accounting or Finance is very strongly preferred, but consideration will be given to candidates who have a strong healthcare accounting experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience: One to two years Accounting experience. Adept at using personal computers and ability to type accurately. Possesses an in depth knowledge of accounting principles, reimbursement methods, and setting up Excel spreadsheets.
Brief Job Description:
Responsible for assisting in the accurate and timely closing of financial records each month and preparing financial statements. Month end duties will include: assisting in reconciliation of hospital bank accounts, posting of manual journal entries and completing various spreadsheet reports. This position is also responsible for assisting in the preparation of annual audit and cost report work papers. Further duties will include routine nursing home QIP transactions, assistance with annual AHA report, DSH surveys, Waiver 1115 spreadsheet reporting and assisting with the maintenance of the hospital's charge master and other reporting as needed. This position also is a backup for accounts payable and payroll functions.
