Director of Laboratory - Full Time - Laboratory
Education:
Bachelors degree in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Sciences; or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution. Associates degree in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Sciences; or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution. Registered Medical Technologist with ASCP, AAB, or NCA is preferred.

Experience:
At least 4 years prior experience in field. Supervisor experience preferred. Up to and including high complexity laboratory procedures and awareness of the factors that influences test results. Experience in assessing and verifying the validity of patient test results through the evaluation of quality control sample values prior to repeating patient test results.

Brief Job Description: The Director of Laboratory is under the supervision of the Pathologist and Administrative Director of Clinical Services. The Director of Laboratory assures that care is delivered to all patients within established legal, ethical laboratory and hospital guidelines. Assures that testing is performed under the guidelines of CLIA and TXDH. Administrate the Lab in compliance with accepted national standards and hospital policies and plans. Coordinates and directs activities of the Lab. Supervises Lab Staff.
